Hosts Bahrain surged ahead after five minutes on the clock, Ahmed Abdulnabi Hamad giving them the lead, quickly followed by Falah Abbas Yusuf's goal in the next minute.
Brunei Darussalam tried to mount a comeback and managed to force an own goal out of Radhi Alsandi in the 14th minute but found it hard to maintain the same momentum in the second half.
Bahrain assumed full control after the break and regained their two-goal advantage through Jassam Saleh Anan in the 30th minute.
Further goals Saleh Ahmed Sanjar (33rd, 40th) and Salman Maula Muhammad (39th) confirmed the win for Bahrain and a place in Thailand 2024.
