DPMM FC's defence of their Singapore League Cup got off to a bad start last night after Balestier Khalsa FC scored twice in the final 10 minutes to win the match 2-1.
Brunei's only professional club took a 1-0 lead after Shahrazen Said tapped home a corner from Azwan Salleh in the 44th minute to put the defending champions ahead at the Toa Payoh Stadium in Singapore.
The kick off time for the match was delayed for two hours due to a lightning alert.
DPMM FC became the first foreign team to win the trophy in 2009 and they are the only club to have won the tournament twice their second in 2012.
