Brunei Darussalam national football team left for Kuala Lumpur yesterday to take part in a tier one international friendly match against Malaysia.
The Wasps will face their neighbours at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium tomorrow.
Twenty-five players have been named in the country’s second friendly appearance since a 3-2 loss to Laos last March.
The friendly will see the return of first-team players Haimie anak Nyaring, Abdul Mu’iz bin Sisa, Azwan Mohd Salleh, Muhammad Najib Tarif and Mohammad Hendra Azam Mohd Idris after missing out on the Laos clash. The team also feature a majority of players that were involved in the Laos friendly including those who received their first international cap.
The match serves as a tune-up for the Malaysian team ahead of their 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup qualifiers next month.
The Malayan Tigers have been drawn in Group ‘E’ alongside Bahrain, Turkmenistan and Bangladesh.
Head Coach Haji Mohd Rosanan bin Abdullah Samak will take charge of the team, assisted by Assistant Head Coach Ali bin Mustapha.
The Kuala Lumpur-bound delegation was led by Team Manager Pengiran Haji Mohammad Waslimin bin Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin.
The officials list also include Assistant Team Manager Ah Chua Bangau; coaches Haji Rosaidi bin Haji Mohd Kamis, Rosmin bin Haji Mohd Kamis, Atsushi Hanita, and Moksen Mohammad; physiotherapist Shuntaro Hagino; and kitman Mohd Hazim bin Hamzah.
