DPMM FC head coach Jamie McAllister on Friday night apologised to the Club’s fans for the team’s poor performance after losing 5-0 to Terengganu FC in the Malaysia Super League.
In the post-match press conference, DPMM FC’s head coach expressed, “I am really disappointed with the score at home. We gave away a cheap goal after 10 seconds; it does not set the tone.
“The reaction after the goal was lack of quality in possession and lack of faith. This is unacceptable for me as a coach. I am really disappointed and I would like to apologise to the fans.”
He elaborated, “I am really disappointed with a number of players who faded away when we were down by 2-0. The players who didn’t show up enough today will not be playing in the next game.”
In football, he shared, “There is always the next game to put things right again. This will be a real test of character now to see who can stand up again.”
Without a win and only one draw after three matches, DPMM FC currently sits at the 12th spot which is second from the bottom of the Malaysia Super League standing. Meanwhile with the impressive result of 5-0, Terengganu FC currently sit on top of the standing with two wins and a draw.
Coach Badrul Afzan Razali of Terengganu FC highlighted, “Alhamdulillah, three important points for us. Congratulations to my players, three points with five goals score was not easy, especially playing in DPMM FC’s home of Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium. We will be looking forward to our next game against Selangor FC.”
He added, “From the previous three matches, we can see where DPMM FC’s strength is. My message to the players were to focus on defending Number 9 Muhammad Ramadhan Sananta and Number 10 Miguel Oliveira.
“Our players managed to execute the strategy and defended well not to allow both players to score. Our team then capitalised on the opportunities to score five goals.”- James Kon
