HAT-TRICK heroes from LLRC FT overpowered Perkasa to cause an 11-1 stumble in the Group A fight of the DST National league at the Stadium Kebajikan Berakas Sports Complex yesterday.
Three goals each from Helmie Md Noorazmi and Safuan Johar would have been enough to bring home a victory but more goals came. Ak Md Azrul Ariffin Pg Matussin managed to score a brace while Md Amirul Jafrey, Md Shah Hafiz Kifli and Md Amirul Hamrey Md Norshaney each contributed a goal.
Perkasa's consolation goal came from Redzuan Hj Takong.
The game kicked off to a bad start for Perkasa when goalkeeper, Ali Omar Hj Sulong, made an error to give the opening goal away to Md Amirul who made it 1-0, just within the 2nd minute.
Two minutes later, Helmie made it 2-0 from a team build-up play in the Perkasa half. The latter's defenders failed to pressure Helmie who took his time to control the ball and left no chance to Ali after placing a right-footed strike to the top right corner.
Soon after it was 3-0 through a Md Shah second attempt. Ali pressed up to prevent Helmie from scoring his brace but his parry would land in the path of Md Shah who left the keeper on the floor to slot in the goal.
Ak Md Azrul was next on the scoring list after latching on to Md Shah's long pass. Beating his marker, Ak Md Azrul ran at goal to finish with a calm strike to make it 4-0 in the 21st minute.
It went from bad to worse for Perkasa after their goalkeeper was given the marching order for a blatant tackle on Md Shah in the penalty box. Perkasa didn't have any choice but to field a defender in place of their keeper as they did not have a goalie in reserve.
With that, the fifth goal came from Safuan who scored the spot kick. Perkasa would have a moment to cheer as they themselves scored from the spot through Redzuan.
LLRC FT would ensue their trashing though as their sixth came from Safuan again, this time in a give-and-go play that resulted in a goal just before the break.
Their dominance simply continued with yet another goal at the start of the second half through Md Amirul.
Hj Afandi Hj Julaihi, the LLRC FT coach told The Brunei Times in a post-match interview, "We won three points even in this field's condition. The ball's movements weren't made predictable but we managed to attack and score 11 goals."The Brunei Times
