THE national Under-19 football team (Tabuan U-19) kicked off their campaign at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-19 Championship qualifiers with a 4-0 loss to Timor Leste on Monday, with all the goals coming in the first half.
According to AFC’s official website, Timor Leste broke the deadlock in the 15th minute through Rufino Gama at the Youth Training Centre, Yangon.
Nelson Viegas doubled the lead for Timor Leste two minutes later before Henrique Cruz made it 3-0 in the 28th minute.
Timor Leste completed the rout four minutes later with Nelson Viegas scoring his brace.
The Sultanate will play hosts Myanmar today and Vietnam on Friday before concluding the qualifying round against Hong Kong on Tuesday.
