DPMM FC got their pre-season friendlies off on the wrong foot after losing 3-1 to Dong Thap FC yesterday at the Dong Thap Stadium in Vietnam.
Brunei's only professional football team got the lead in the 35th minute after Portuguese striker Joao Vitor Rocha De Carvalho Moreira connected on an Azwan Salleh cross from the left.
Dong Thap FC equallised just one minute before halftime and grabbed the lead 10 minutes after the break.
The hosts then killed off the game with another goal in the 85th minute.
Fatigue could have played a role for DPMM FC considering that they left on Saturday and only arrived at Ho Chi Minh at midnight. The ride from the hotel to the match venue also took three hours.
They will face TP Ho Chi Minh FC today and end their three-game sting against Saigon Xuan Thanh FC on Wednesday.
