DPMM FC won the first of their pre-season friendlies yesterday following a 2-0 win against Buba FC at Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam
Brunei's only professional football team got their noses ahead in the first-half after Ak Mohammad Fakharrazi Pg Hj Hassan connected on a cross by midfielder Najib Hj Tarif from the left.
Mohd Hendra Azam Mohd Idris made it 2-0 just before the final whistle via a free-kick.
According to DPMM FC staff Hj Zainol Ariffin Hj Jumat, BUBA FC is a football team made up of former import players from the Vietnamese League.
DPMM FC fell to a 2-1 loss to Vietnamese side Saigon Xuan Thanh FC at the Thong Nhat Stadium at Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday.
The Singapore League runner-ups also lost 3-1 to Dong Thap FC on Sunday before losing to TP Ho Chi Minh FC 1-0 on Monday.
DPMM FC will take on Home United in their Singapore League (S-League) opener at the Bishan Stadium in Singapore on February 21.
They will then host Hougang United in their first home game of the year on March 1 at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
They then face Courts Young Lions (Singaporean national Under-23 team) in third-week action on March 7 and Japanese outfit Albirex Niigata (S) on March 11.
The games are set to be played at Singapore's Jalan Besar Stadium and Jurong East Stadium respectively.-Ak Fauzi Pg Salleh
