Five Year Ban for Majra skipper Faizal
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (16 May 2014) – Majra United captain Faizal Mohammad has been slapped with a five year ban by the National FA of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) for assaulting a referee in their DST Super League match against Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council (MS ABDB) in mid-week.
MS ABDB were leading up until the 59thminute, when the award of penalty resulted in a violent reaction from Faizal. The game at the Balapan Track and Field of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex in Berakas was then abandoned.
MS ABDB were awarded with a 3-0 victory while Majra United were fined BND 500 (USD 399.30).
NFABD statement reads: “we take a serious view on the incident and will not condone such behaviour”.
