THE national team for next month's Hassanal Bolkiah Trophy (HBT) will play a friendly against Thai Premier League (TPL) side Chiangrai United FC this afternoon.

The side's most crucial warm-up match in their build-up to the Feb 25-March 5 tournament, the game will kick off at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas at 5pm.

Though Kwon Oh-son said he doesn't know much about Chiangrai, he agreed it will be a good test for his players. Their biggest friendly before this was a 3-2 loss to DPMM FC last month, making today's game all the more important.

"I've got no information about the Thai side, but I will get some later and then arrange the team tomorrow," said the national coach last night.

"We weren't sure who to field as goalkeeper before, but now we've decided to go with Md Fakhrul Zulhazmi Yussof," added the South Korean.

Chiangrai will also play a charity match against DPMM FC at the same venue tomorrow night.

Proceeds from the tickets, which are priced at $5 each, will be channelled to the Humanitarian Aid Fund for Flood Victims in Thailand and Cambodia. The Brunei Times
