QAF FC win furious shootout

Wednesday, January 11, 2012
QAF FC emerged victorious last night with a thrilling 5-4 result against Tunas FC in their Group B DST National League qualifying game.

Tunas FC's Abd Muiz Mahmud scored his first goal in the 18th minute of the game in front of spirited fans.

QAF's attacking forward Riwandi Wahit replied confidently by equalising for his team just two minutes later.

It was QAF's turn to take the lead, after Hardi Bujang put his team ahead 2-1, in the 27th minute.

Not to be outdone, Md Nazirul Hadi Hj Marsal levelled the game almost immediately, scoring just one minute later for Tunas FC.

Teammate Abdul Muiz Mahmud then made it 3-2 after the start of the second half, with a well placed finish in the 52th minute.

Hardi Bujang gave QAF supporters more to shout about, after scoring again to equalise in the 64th minute of the game.

Filled with screaming ecstatic fans who were cheering for their respective teams throughout the game, Md Nazirul Arsat put Tunas FC ahead again in the 77th minute of the game.

In a determined flow of play, Md Sabri Abdullah made it 4-4 for QAF FC in the 79th minute.

With seconds remaining in the game, Md Zaim Jaya emerged as the hero, scoring QAF's winning goal in the 91st minute of the game.

This cements QAF position at the top of group B.

Tunas FC, meanwhile, will have to dig deeper if they are to win their remaining games to play.

Despite the loss, the scoreline of 4-5 against powerhouse QAF FC is something for Tunas FC to be optimistic about.

While QAF are sitting comfortably at the top, the group B qualification table at this moment suggests that second and third place could still be up for grabs for the group's other teams.

Wijaya FC will play Lun Bawang FC at 4.10pm on Friday at the Berakas Sports Complex.
