HRH visit marks DPMM FC's return to S-League
HIS Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah yesterday graced the official signing ceremony of DPMM FC's return into the 2012 season of the Singapore-League.
DPMM FC will be among two new teams competing in the league, scheduled to kick off in early February.
The other new team joining the S-League is Malaysia's Harimau Muda.
According to a report by channelnewsasia, the Bruneian side is targetting a top five finish in the 14-team league.
DPMM FC played in the S-League in 2009 before making history as the first foreign team to win the League Cup.
The club will play its home matches at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.His Royal Highness also consented to watch the Malaysia Super League Match between Singapore Lion XII against Kelantan at the Jalan Besar Stadium in the evening.
His Royal Highness was presented a Singapore XII jersey by Zainuddin Nordin, the President of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) at halftime.
Also present at the stadium were His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and Prince Abdul Qawi.
