The Brunei Darussalam national football team will face the Brunei Super League All Stars team in a friendly match at Track and Field, Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex today at 8pm.
During a press conference, National Team Manager Pengiran Haji Waslimin bin Pengiran Setia Jaya Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin said “We want to test out our players against the Brunei Super League All Stars. It won’t be an easy match against the best of the league.”
Brunei Super League All Stars Team Manager Mohd Nazib bin Haji Ali said “The selection process for All Stars was quite tough. We were given one week to prepare. We looked for fit players through club managers and coaches.
“We selected players from Kota Rangers, MS ABDB, Indera FC, Kasuka FC and so on. Most are new names.”
Mohd Nazib said the national squad is well prepared based on the recent match against
Kasuka FC.
Meanwhile, All Stars only had three training sessions and one friendly match within a week leading to limited time for preparation and building team chemistry.
Brunei Super League All Stars coach Rosanan bin Abdullah Samak said, “We will do our best against the national team and I convey my gratitude to Kasuka FC, MS ABDB and other clubs for allowing their players join the team.”
Mohd Nazib hoped for Brunei National coach Datuk K Rajagobal to look for some of the best players in Brunei Super League All Stars team to add to the national squad.
The entry fee is BND5 and all proceeds will to a local charity. The match will adhere to Ministry of Health directives where only 500 fans are allowed in the venue. Temperature checks will be at the entrance and fans must also wear face masks.
Tickets will be available two hours before the kickoff time.
