DPMM FC went down 4-2 to Semen Padang FC in their Governor Aceh Trophy opener last night after a Titus Bonai hat-trick inspired the Indonesians to a comfortable win in Banda Aceh, Indonesia.

According to Semen Padang FC's Twitter feed, the Indonesian national team striker put the Indonesian Premier League reigning champions 2-0 up after strikes in the fourth and 18th minute, but midfielder Azwan Salleh would pull one back for the visitors before the break at the Lhoong Raya Stadium.

Edward Junior Wilson made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute and DPMM FC on-trial player Rocha Romeiro cut the deficit back to one goal in the 65th minute before Titus bagged his third eight minutes from time.

DPMM FC face Kelantan who have won the Malaysia Super League the past two seasons in their next match of the three-team group.

The other group pits Aceh United, Makassar United and Selangor against each other, with the two best teams moving on to Wednesday's semi-finals.

Brunei's only professional club are using the Governor Aceh Trophy as warm-up for next season's Singapore League, which is set to start in February.

DPMM FC finished second in the S-League last season and also claimed the Singapore League Cup, a prize they won for the first time in 2009.
